Recording the seasons

07/03/2012 in gardening

When I started this blog, one of my intentions was to have a record of what bloomed when, so that I could provide a continuous look at the progression of my gardens through the year.

I’ve done a poor job of of providing that coverage, and only part of that is due to the difficulty of getting a good shot in the harsh sub-tropical sun, or the importance of getting a shot on the day or week when the flower is in peak bloom… some plants provide continuous bloom for months… posting the same flowers for a number of months would seem a bit monotonous…

On my tumblr blog, I’ve done better, as most of those pics were posted on the day or week when I took the picture.

Over the last coupla years, I’ve taken some nice pictures, and some of them stand out as personal faves.

I’ve attempted to round up a few of those…

I’ve added photo information to a number of these, clicking the thumbnails enlarges the pic, includes the description. Clicking slideshow gives a slideshow, but nuthin great.

I have a number of other pictures that I also like, but I don’t want to overwhelm… 20 pics should be enough for any post.

I hope yall enjoy the photos!

The Fickling Garden

01/27/2012 in gardening, winter gardening

Visiting the Fickling garden can be an experience of envy…
With good Georgia red clay, and the ability to purchase the plants desired, there’s nothing keeping them from having the garden they want.

I find myself developing caviar tastes while constrained to a rice and beans budget…
:b
Enjoy the fancy flowers!
