Coral Honeysuckle

coral honeysuckle

Lonicera sempervirens This is the native honeysuckle… A vine with manners!

Yellow Buckeye

yellow buckeye

Aesculus pavia The yellow is an interesting contrast with the red… and apparently crosses…
The buckeye bush must be the all-time easy shrub to grow from seed, the only probs that I’ve run into, are that buckeye comes up very early, like January… a cold spell can kill the seedlings… it’s often simplest to start the seeds indoors and set the seedlings out after it warms up.

Sweet Shrub

sweet shrub

Calycanthus floridus Sweet shrub has cool blooms, remains small, but tends to run like mint with those stolons…

Native Azaleas

native azaleas
Rhododendron sp
The native azaleas have been very unhappy in the constant droughts we’ve been having year after year… these two look pretty nice together though.
