The Wetland Garden

Swamp Hibiscus

Swamp Hibiscus

  • Native
  • Perennial
  • Bloom:  Summer, Autumn
  • Propagation:  Seed
Swamp hibiscus are very easy to grow, plant the seeds in the spring and they will often bloom the first year in Georgia.

Swamp hibiscus are grown as much for their striking cannabis-like foilage as their gaudy over-sized blooms. While a wetland plant, swamp hibiscus will grow in any good garden soil. Expect height from this plant. Swamp hibiscus grow 6-10 foot high!
